Judith Magee Sunday, 11/9/08, 10:17 PM My mother's maiden name was Martin and her great uncle was Hope Martin, Schoolmaster on the Netherby. Hope Martin's wife's name was Maria (nee Skerman) and they came with others in the Skerman family, including my husband, Neil Magee, whose great great grandfather was John Skerman, whose sister was Maria Skerman. Only found this out last week and although know a lot about the Skerman side of the family, would love to find out about what happened to Hope and Maria Martin after they left Queensland for Balmain, NSW. Would love to hear if anyone knows about that side of the family. From Judith Magee From: Perth, Western Australia Email: mageefamily@ozemail.com.au

Heather Denning Friday, 11/21/08, 5:15 PM Hi all, 2 years ago my partner, Noel and I were going to the UK. We wanted info about the Denning Family and Noel's cousin gave us a brief family history. It was only then that he found out about the Netherby. Whether Noel's family know about the shipwreck, I do not know. I've been in contact with other Denning relatives in the UK and have given them what info I had. I was given this great website by one of these UK contacts. Noel's 3xg.grandparents Charles and Maria (spelt Marian in the Book which is incorrect) and their youngest son James Gadd aged 11 were on the ship. They came to Queensland on the City of Melbourne and settled in the Glamorgan Vale and Fernvale districts west of Ipswich. We've very excited about the 150 year reunion. See you all there on King Island in 2016. Cheers, Heather & Noel Denning From: Mapleton, Queensland Email: noelheath@bigpond.com

My father-in-law holds a family bible which is water stained from the shipwreck. Great to know now exactly what happened. Your site is fantastic. From: Perth, WA Email: krerden@hotmail.com
