Shaun Healy Sunday, 1/1/12, 12:54 AM My Great Great Grandfather Captain William Townsend was on board the Netherby with his children. I have only recently discovered this. He settled in Brighton, Brisbane. I still live in Brisbane area. My Mother's maiden name is Townsend, Shirley Fay Townsend, her father's name was Garnet Townsend and his fathers name was Victor Louis Townsend who was on board the Netherby with his father (Captain William Townsend) and was aged 10. Paul T. Seto Wednesday, 3/14/12, 6:20 PM I have just found your website, via a descendant of James (shipwright) & Rebecca YORSTON, passengers on the 1866 'Netherby'. In 1896, their daughter, Grace Elizabeth Yorston, aged 27 years, was drowned when the s.s. 'Pearl' capsized in the Brisbane river during floodwaters. I have just finished a book on this disaster, where some 30 people perished. Also, have just organized the first Commemoration of this event at the Queensland Maritime Museum, and many links were made to living descendants. I would like to setup a 'Pearl' website similar to the 'Netherby', and would appreciate some advice please. From: Queensland Email: pseto@bigpond.net.au What can you share about The Netherby? Some QLD research on YORSTON family

Ann Lynn Monday, 3/19/12, 7:18 PM At this juncture, I am researching the Francis Massingham / Hester Narborough family to no avail. I was hoping you might have some information about either of them. Sir John Narborough was an English Naval Commander of the 17th century. Could he possibly be related to our Hester. Any information would rescue us from the stone wall we have crashed into.
